To us Camping is an activity done in many ways. To us, it is more than a Picnic in which you go someplace to play, eat and return home. It typically involves spending night(s), but is not required. The stay could be several hours or days – maybe weeks.
This is a no-brainer when Backpacking as you need to “live” someplace. You could drive a car or RV to a site or you hike to a place. What you brings is based on what you plan on doing. Some sites have full amenities and others have nothing (Primitive).
